For the Fine Crafts Biennial 2018 under the theme of “Gestures and Wonders”, Lea Schroeder presents a trio of marvelous birds, made up of 7 independent earthenware sculptures.

 

The techniques used are reminiscent of those of fine jewelry: set with cut stones, pearls strung on wire or even the refined work of the granulations found on each of the works. Each element is painstakingly modeled by hand using a minimum of tools.

 

Before creating her works, the designer imagined three tales, in which each bird is the main protagonist and brings its own moral.
