To celebrate the inauguration of the national club "Gëlle Fra", a new generation of women joining the Soroptimist community in Luxembourg, Lea Schroeder Studio was commissioned to create a series of bespoke brass medallions, conceived as lasting symbols of belonging, solidarity, and shared ambition.
Named after Luxembourg’s iconic Gëlle Fra (Golden Lady) monument, a symbol of freedom, resilience, and remembrance, the new club embraces this powerful feminine figure as an expression of its identity. Its mission reflects the wider Soroptimist commitment to advancing women’s rights, education, and empowerment, bringing women together to inspire positive change.
Each medallion originated as a hand-sculpted wax model, subsequently cast in brass and reproduced in a limited series. Presented to the members during the club’s inauguration ceremony in 2024, these meaningful keepsakes celebrate the beginning of a collective journey.
